Welcome to the Ssemble Clipper Reward Program! This guide is for Creators like you who want to amplify their content's reach and engagement by incentivizing Clippers to create short-form video clips from your original YouTube videos.
1. Introduction
What is the Clipper Reward Program for Creators?
It's a platform where you can promote your YouTube video. You can launch projects based on your YouTube videos. You set a budget and reward terms, and talented Clippers will create short, engaging clips for platforms like YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram, helping your content reach new audiences.
Who is a Creator?
You are the Creator! You initiate reward projects, provide the original content, define the terms, and fund the rewards.
2. Creating Your First Clipper Reward Project
Accessing the Feature:
Navigate to the Clipper Reward section in Ssemble. You'll find a "Create Project" button.
Step 1: Original Video & Ownership Verification
- Provide YouTube URL: Enter the URL of the public YouTube video you want Clippers to use.
- Verify Ownership: This is a crucial step to ensure you own the content.
- The system will first retrieve video details (title, channel name, channel ID).
- You'll then be prompted to authenticate via a Google pop-up window. Sign in with the Google account that owns the YouTube channel of the provided video.
- Once verified, you'll see a "Verified ✓" status, and the channel name and ID will be displayed.
Step 2: Define Project Parameters
- Total Budget ($): The total amount you want to allocate for this project. This is the amount you will be charged. Minimum: $100.
- End Date: The date when the project will stop accepting new submissions. It defaults to two weeks from the creation date and must be at least tomorrow.
- Reward Rate ($ per 1,000 views): How much you'll pay Clippers for every 1,000 views their approved clips receive. Minimum: $0.10.
- Max Payout (per clip, optional): The maximum amount a single clip can earn. This cannot exceed your Total Budget. If left blank, there's no individual clip payout limit other than the total budget.
- Platforms: Select the platforms where you want Clippers to share their clips (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram).
- Requirements (max 5): Add specific guidelines or rules for the clips. Be clear and concise (e.g., "Include a specific call to action," "Highlight the first 2 minutes," "Use a specific hashtag").
Step 3: Agree to Terms & Conditions
- Before finalizing, you must review and agree to the Ssemble Clipper Reward Program's Terms & Conditions. You can view the full terms within the creation modal.
Step 4: Payment & Project Launch
- Total to be Charged: The system will display the Total Budget you've set.
- Click "Create" (or similar, like "Proceed to Payment"). You will be redirected to Stripe to complete the payment for the project's total budget.
- Upon successful payment, your project will be created. Its initial status might be 'pending' for a brief review or go 'active' if all checks pass. You'll be redirected back to the Clipper Reward page, often with a success message.

- Active: Your project is live! Clippers can view it, submit clips, and approved clips will start accruing earnings.
- Completed: The project has ended, either because the endDate has been reached, the totalBudget has been fully paid out, or you've manually marked it as such (if applicable, usually an Admin function). No new submissions are accepted.
- Cancelled: You (or an Admin) cancelled the project. If you cancelled it before any submissions and it was eligible for a refund, the refund process is active. No new submissions.
7. Billing & Payments Management
- Funding Projects: You fund each project's totalBudget upfront via Stripe during project creation.
- Tracking Your Payments (Billing History):
- On the "My Projects" page, you can usually find a "Billing History" button or section.

- Stripe Customer Portal:
- You may have an option to "Open Customer Portal" (or similar wording) which links you to your Stripe account where you can manage payment methods and view invoices related to your Ssemble project funding.

- Fair Reward Rate: A competitive reward rate can attract more and higher-quality Clippers.
- Sufficient Budget: Ensure your budget can support a reasonable number of successful clips.
- Timely Review: Review pending submissions promptly. While there's auto-approval, your direct feedback helps maintain quality.
