Clips come out in the wrong language when the Video Language setting does not match the language actually spoken in your source video, or when Caption Translation is set to a different language than you expected. Both are controls you set yourself when you submit a video, Ssemble does not detect the spoken language automatically.
Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tells Ssemble what language is spoken in your source video. This drives transcription and the captions burned into your clips. |
| An optional, separate toggle that translates the generated captions into another language. It does not change the spoken audio. |
If Video Language is set to the wrong language, the transcript, captions, and any AI-generated titles will come out in that wrong language, for example Arabic instead of English. If Caption Translation is turned on and pointed at a language you did not intend, your captions will show up translated even though the source audio and Video Language are correct.
Before you submit a video, check the Video Language field and set it to the language actually spoken in the video.
Check whether Caption Translation is enabled. If it is, confirm the target language, or turn it off if you want captions in the original spoken language.
If a project already finished with the wrong language, you need to submit it again with the correct settings. See How to Submit Your Video for the full submission steps, and Custom Options for details on Caption Translation.
Ssemble cannot change the language of a clip that has already finished generating. You have to resubmit the video with the correct
Video LanguageorCaption Translationsetting.
Resubmitting a video uses another credit. A clip generated with the wrong Video Language or Caption Translation setting is a completed, successful generation, not a technical failure, so it does not qualify for the automatic credit refund described in Clips Generation Failed. That refund only applies when generation errors out.
Credit purchases are non-refundable under our No Refund Policy. If you believe your output language was wrong because of a Ssemble issue rather than your own settings, contact support with your project link so the team can look into it.
