If nothing happens when you tap Add Account, or the login window never appears, the cause is almost always a blocked pop-up. Ssemble opens the YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram login in a separate window (a new tab on phones and tablets), and your browser has to allow it.
Work through the steps below in order. Most connection problems are solved by step 1.
Quick fix: allow pop-ups for
app.ssemble.com, refresh the page, and tap Add Account again.
Pick your device and browser.
iPhone or iPad (Safari)
Safari on iPhone and iPad blocks pop-ups by default, and the setting is in the Settings app, not in Safari itself.
Open the Settings app.
Go to Apps → Safari (on older iOS versions: Settings → Safari).
Turn Block Pop-ups off.
Go back to Ssemble, refresh the page, and tap Add Account again.
If Safari shows "This site is attempting to open a pop-up window", tap Allow.
iPhone or iPad (Chrome)
Tap the ⋯ menu, then Settings → Content Settings → Block Pop-ups.
Turn Block Pop-ups off.
Refresh Ssemble and try again.
Mac (Safari)
With Ssemble open, go to Safari → Settings → Websites → Pop-up Windows.
Find app.ssemble.com and set it to Allow.
Refresh Ssemble and try again.
Chrome or Edge (Windows, Mac)
Tap Add Account. If a small "Pop-up blocked" icon appears at the right end of the address bar, click it.
Choose Always allow pop-ups and redirects from app.ssemble.com, then Done.
Refresh Ssemble and try again.
If you don't see the icon, open browser Settings, search for Pop-ups and redirects, and add app.ssemble.com to the allowed list.
Android (Chrome)
Tap the ⋮ menu, then Settings → Site settings → Pop-ups and redirects.
Turn pop-ups on.
Refresh Ssemble and try again.
Firefox
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions.
Next to Block pop-up windows, click Exceptions and add https://app.ssemble.com.
Refresh Ssemble and try again.
Use a regular browser. Links opened inside the Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or other in-app browsers often can't open a login window. Open app.ssemble.com directly in Safari or Chrome.
Pause ad blockers and content blockers for app.ssemble.com. They can block the login window even when pop-ups are allowed.
Don't close the login tab yourself. On phones and tablets the login opens as a new tab. Finish the login and approve the permissions; the tab closes on its own. Then go back to the Ssemble tab.
Approve every permission requested. If you untick a permission or tap Cancel, the connection is rejected.
Refresh after connecting. If the login finished but the account isn't listed, refresh the Ssemble page.
If the TikTok or Instagram app opens instead of the login page and you don't return to Ssemble, try connecting from a computer.
Turn off your VPN if the login page won't load or shows an error.
YouTube
The Google account you choose must already have a YouTube channel. If it doesn't, create a channel at youtube.com first, then connect again.
Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator (Professional) account. Personal accounts can't be connected. See Publish Clips to Social Media for how to switch your account type.
TikTok
TikTok connects whichever account is currently logged in on tiktok.com in your browser. If the wrong account gets connected, or adding a second account seems to do nothing:
Go to tiktok.com and log out.
Return to Ssemble and tap Add Account.
Log in with the account you want to connect.
The same applies when switching Instagram accounts.
